About eC3
What is eC3?
eC3 is a governmental organization working to further discuss and create solutions for technology issues that impact the business of government. The organization is built on the on the principle that collaboration around public sector challenges can derive unanticipated benefits for many constituencies. As such, eC3 works across the boundaries of federal, state and local governments and consists of thought leaders from the public and private sectors. To further its vision of affecting strategic change in government, eC3 cuts across a number of disciplines, including but not limited to technology, finance and acquisition.
eC3 Events and Workgroups Create Value Through Collaboration
For more than a decade, eC3 has created value for government officials and private sector leaders by establishing an annual agenda that concentrates on the emerging issues facing governments across the nation. The issues are then investigated and discussed in a workgroup or at a symposium. The intellectual capital produced takes the form of a white paper that is released at the annual conference held in December of each year.
Workgroups
The best way to get involved with eC3, is to participate in one of eC3’s five workgroups. Workgroups allow participants to network and collaborate with other visionaries seeking to contribute value to the topic and enhance the business of government.
Each workgroup, designed to further eC3’s core mission of cross boundary collaboration, is sponsored by an eC3 board member and includes a diverse participant base spanning different branches, levels and disciplines of government. Private sector participation is also encouraged to ensure a well-rounded perspective on each issue. The intellectual capital developed by the workgroups is discussed and shared at the end of the year at eC3’s annual conference.
Symposia
Symposia bring together public and private sector individuals with specific subject matter expertise. This group of 40–50 experts work together over a two-day period to craft content and best practice examples that are then turned into an eC3 symposium paper and released at the annual conference in December.
Annual Conference
The uniqueness of the eC3 annual conference lies in the composition of its attendees and the collaborative exchange that it promotes. eC3 is the only organization that brings together a cross-section of public and private sector leaders from federal, state and local governments to network, collaborate and discuss the cross-cutting issues of technology as it applies to the business of government. The annual conference agenda is comprised of thought-provoking general sessions and workshops that present the organization’s annual work products.
