eC3 Conference CANCELLED
We regret to announce that the eC3 Annual Conference scheduled for December 9th -12th in Seattle has been cancelled. Despite the planning and outreach efforts put forth this year and the outstanding program we put together, the economic and financial recession hitting the country has also hit state and local government making it impossible for eC3 to hold a financially viable conference.
Three weeks out from the conference, eC3 found itself facing both attendance and sponsorship challenges. Rather than move forward and hold a conference that would compromise eC3’s reputation, the Board decided to cancel the conference. This was not a decision that the eC3 Board took lightly. We recognize that many have already made travel plans for December and we apologize for any inconvenience this decision may have caused.
We would like to assure you that eC3 will continue its work in 2009. We believe the efforts of the organization have only gained in relevance, not declined and we hope you will continue to support our efforts.
