The forum provides a convenient, virtually maintenance-free way for NECCC
members to share information. In addition, over time the system will
begin to serve as a sort of library, allowing members to search for
information on specific topics that may have already been discussed in the
forum.
Once an individual joins the forum, he can sign up to participate in
discussions that are categorized by topic. When a new post is made
to a particular topic or "thread," the user is notified by
e-mail. This system ensures that the information shared is not only
relevant to the user's individual interests or needs (since the user picks
specific categories or interest), but timely as well.
File sharing is also a capability the forum offers users. Files with
extensions of doc, txt, xls, and pdf can all be posted for more complete
information sharing among members.
The forum will only be as strong as the information contained within, so
the key to helping shape it into a valuable research and information
exchange center is to use it regularly. No one is in a better
position to over assistance with your daily government technology issues
than your peers from around the country, and NECCC's on-line forum
provides a perfect place for discussions that can benefit all who
participate.
