Thanks to all of you who have contributed your time and interest in this project along the roller coaster ride of these past four months.
Our work has produced two deliverables:
An "exposure draft" of a white paper (see link to attached doc).
An important session at the NECCC December conference.
Session Panelists & Topics
What if you could... ?
Shelley Ryan will demonstrate a compelling application of XML technologies and web services that potentially transforms how government and industry manage environmental compliance data over the lifecycle of a facility.
How in the heck... ?
John Messing will explain some of the newest underlying XML technologies (beyond standards and schemas) that can quickly enable remarkable e-government transactions.
Somebody should do something... !
Zachary Coffin will offer ideas about what's required to develop, maintain, and promote XML standards. He'll describe the commitments required from the public and private sector.
Who's doing what... ?
Mark Cleverly or Dan Greenwood will share current news about current and impending government success with XML technologies and web services.
About the whitepaper
Your comments and edits are welcome, but because of time limitations, it's unlikely that they will be included in the exposure draft distributed at the conference.
After the NECCC conference, there will be a final opportunity to refine the exposure draft into a board-approved whitepaper.
If you DO decide to offer edits, do not be discouraged by the formatting in the MS Word document. Adding a word or an entire paragraph may "disrupt" the layout, but I'll straighten it out later.
Please do not distribute the attached exposure draft before the NECCC program committee approves it.
