E-Procurement Work Group
Chair: Dick Thompson, Purchasing Director - Maine
Communications Committee Liaison: Dick Ross - New York
The Electronic Procurement Systems Work Group will develop work products that will
support state efforts to establish electronic procurement systems. A goal is to share
information and experience. Work Group work products will include the following:
- A session at the NECCC Annual Conference that will highlight current efforts by states
to allow government procurement activities to be transacted electronically using
electronic commerce technologies. The initial plan for the session is to have a panel of
presenters from states and the private sector who have leading edge applications in the
area of online procurement systems. A specific focus will be on results and lessons
learned.
- A published survey of supplier products and services which support electronic
procurement systems. This catalog of providers and their solutions will include the
supplier name contact information, the name of the product, the platform(s) supported, the
operating systems requirements and the functions performed and a description of each
solution. Detailed survey responses are also provided.
- A published survey of State initiatives. This survey will address electronic commerce
projects within the states that have to do with procurement and purchasing systems. The
survey will include the name of the contact person and the division, department or agency
of the state; a description of project; the timeline of the project; results to date, if
any; the size and/or scope of the project; business case information where available; and
website links.
- A short list of definitions of electronic procurement terms.
